Roof repairs in Hemel Hempstead for slipped tiles, cracked ridges, split flat roofs and leaking chimneys on the new town houses of Adeyfield, Bennetts End, Grovehill and beyond. Ring 07310 120341: Kieran comes out at no charge, finds the cause and puts the fix in a free written quote.
Most of Hemel Hempstead's new town houses have long, low-pitched roofs in concrete tile. On a shallow pitch, wind pushes rain up under the tiles and the felt below has to carry it down to the gutter. When that felt has perished after 60 or 70 years, it drips into the loft instead. Slipped tiles are refitted or replaced, cracked ridges and verges are re-bedded or converted to dry fix, and torn felt at the eaves is renewed.
The flat roofs give up first. Garages, porches, back extensions and the link blocks between houses are covered in felt that blisters, splits at the edges and holds puddles. A single split is patched. When the felt has gone across the roof, Kieran strips it, replaces any soft decking and relays it in felt, GRP or EPDM rubber. His Hemel Hempstead post on Instagram shows exactly that: a flat roof, before and after.
In Boxmoor and the Old Town the roofs are older: slate and clay tile, with chimney stacks that lose their pointing and lead. Those are repaired in matching slate and tile and new lead. Wherever you are in HP1, HP2 or HP3, the leak is traced from the roof and the loft, and Kieran explains what he found before he quotes.

From the roof and the loft, so the quote is for the real problem.
Clear, written and yours to think over.
A tidy finish, a 20-year guarantee on new roofs and all other work guaranteed.
In Hertfordshire, replacing a few slipped tiles costs about £150 to £400. A new flat roof on a garage or porch, when the old felt is past patching, runs about £1,000 to £2,500, and new lead round a chimney about £400 to £900. Kieran's quote is in writing before any work starts.
On a shallow roof, wind drives rain up under the tiles at the laps. When the felt underneath is sound it runs away to the gutter; when the felt has perished it drips into the loft. The fix is the felt, not just the tiles.
If it has been patched before and is blistering across the whole surface, no. A new covering on a sound deck lasts far longer than another patch, and Kieran tells you straight which one it needs.
Yes. All our work is guaranteed.
Yes, straight. If the felt has perished and the repairs keep coming back, a new roof is the better spend, and Kieran shows you why on the roof. New roofs carry our 20-year guarantee.
