Outstanding roofing company! I honestly can’t recommend KR & Sons Roofing & Guttering Ltd enough. From the first contact, they were friendly, professional and extremely helpful. The whole team worked incredibly hard and the standard of their workmanship was brilliant. They were reliable, tidy and kept me informed throughout the job, and the finished roof looks absolutely fantastic. It’s not often you come across a company that takes this much pride in their work. I’m extremely happy with the result and would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending them to family, friends or anyone looking for a top-quality roofing company. Fantastic team, fantastic workmanship and a fantastic service from start to finish!

Flat roofing in Hertfordshire in felt, GRP, rubber and single-ply
Flat roofing in Hertfordshire for extensions, dormers, garages and commercial roofs, in felt, GRP, EPDM rubber and single-ply. Ring Kieran on 07310 120341 or send the form for a free written quote.
Most flat roofs fail at the edges first: the upstand against the wall, the drip at the gutter, the seal round a rooflight. Lay new felt over a wet deck and the problem is sealed in underneath. On a replacement we strip back to the joists, replace soft or rotten decking and build the roof up properly from there.
We lay four systems, on homes and commercial buildings. Torch-on felt is the tough, affordable choice for garages and rear extensions. GRP fibreglass sets hard and smooth, which suits a roof you look down on from upstairs. EPDM rubber goes on as one sheet with no joints across the middle. Single-ply membranes suit larger and commercial roofs. Kieran tells you which one fits your roof, and why.
Hertfordshire is full of flat roofs: dormer loft conversions on St Albans and Watford terraces, rear extensions on every kind of house, and flat-roofed garages and porches on the new-town estates of Stevenage and Hemel Hempstead. A recent Hemel Hempstead flat roof is on our Instagram, before and after.

Flat roofing: your questions answered
How much does a new flat roof cost in Hertfordshire?
Across Hertfordshire, a single garage or porch roof runs about £1,000 to £2,500, and a single-storey rear extension of 15 to 20 square metres about £2,000 to £4,500. The system you choose and how much of the deck needs replacing set the price. Our flat roof cost guide has the detail.
Felt, GRP, EPDM or single-ply: which is best?
Felt is the toughest for the money. GRP gives the neatest hard finish. EPDM goes on as a single sheet with no joints across the roof. Single-ply suits larger and commercial roofs. Kieran recommends one once he has seen your roof.
Can my flat roof be repaired instead of replaced?
Yes, if the deck underneath is dry and sound. A split, a blister or a failed edge can be repaired. If the deck has gone soft, a new roof is the fix.
Do you do commercial flat roofs?
Yes. We lay flat roofs on residential and commercial buildings.
How long does a flat roof take?
Most extension and garage roofs take one to two days. Bigger roofs take longer.
